Michael Johnson — better known around the office as MJ — is the founder and CEO of Peachtree Roofing & Exteriors and, since February 2025, the owner of TC Roofing & Restorations in Texas. He grew up in Statesboro, Georgia, where reputations and relationships matter more than anything, and your word has to back up your name. He has been in Atlanta for years now and calls it home, but Statesboro is where the foundation was laid. MJ got into roofing in Denver in his early twenties — climbing roofs, walking jobs, and sitting at kitchen tables with families after storms — and built his first roofing company into a five-location operation before selling it in 2012.

That early field experience is what makes Peachtree work the way it does. MJ founded Peachtree with the goal of doing it bigger and better the second time around, and the company has since become a five-time Inc. 5000 honoree. His specialty is insurance restoration, roofing, storm damage claims, and Xactimate-based estimating, with deep experience in supplement recovery, claim documentation, and Texas Department of Insurance and UPPA compliance. His mentor line, picked up early: "The quality of your outcomes is determined by the quality of your thinking." Most people, he says, rush to solutions before they have clearly defined the problem. MJ has built both companies around the opposite: slow down on the thinking so you can speed up on the execution.

Home is his wife, Cece, and their two daughters, ages 5 and 7, plus their two dogs, Kali and Snoopy. Family time is what he protects most carefully; golf is what clears his head. Most people don't know he used to play drums in a punk rock band called My Son Jupiter — different life, but the rules (keep time, show up, respect the people standing with you) still apply. Bucket-list mission: launch a nonprofit to fund pediatric cancer research.
